ABOUT ME
Keep It Stupid Simple
Hello, I am Sietse Nijman. In 2020 I graduated from the bachelor Engineering (Design and Innovation)
at the HZ University of Applied sciences. I am currently doing master Industrial Design at the
Technical University in Eindhoven.
As a designer, my passion lies in solving people's problems. I see myself as a professional problem solver, crafting unique solutions for individuals. Everyday issues like societal, lifestyle, and mental health challenges resonate with me. What matters most to me in a product is its usefulness, ensuring it seamlessly integrates into users' lives or actively enhances their well-being.
In my design approach, I believe in placing the user at the center, alongside other stakeholders. This means creating accessible products that are easily understood by everyone and actively involving users throughout the design process. For complex technologies like artificial intelligence, user control over data is crucial to build trust and autonomy. Ultimately, AI should serve as a supportive tool, bringing joy and enhancing overall well-being. Designers have a responsibility to prioritize user interests such as privacy, safety, well-being, and individual desires, while considering the collective impact. Products should be user-centered, accessible, and mindful, rather than solely driven by profit.
